I'm a windows user, and definately not a programmer at all.. k well, you can install GNUe and run sample apps.. but they are not useful apps really hmm.. was looking for something that was readily made up.. k actually DCL is very useful I appreciate the feedback.. check out DCL for something to actually use at the moment.. have you heard of OPT ? no well.. that's another package that is very useful for business applications... you can easily edit some variables in DCL so that it presents data in words other than trouble-ticket-like based.. but it depends on what type of CRM software you need.. I will get the URL for you.. preferably something that integrates with MS Outlook.. you want CRM for internal tracking purposes or do you want CRM for customer access to internal data? contact management system both well DCL can handle internal tracking.. with remote customers submitting tickets/work orders.. I can tell you that I speak on behalf of a number of people in small business who use MS Outlook.. something that integrates nicely with it would be superb :) ok is that still beta ? or? the rest of GNUe can accomplish the latter, but its custom to any company. DCL is production quality, very good tool its on the website its a part of GNUe customer accessible web forms client is alpha or beta, I'm planning to try it out soon for that purpose its written in php ok.. we are set up for PHP.. that's a good start :) you could try that.. if it works, it should be the easiest way to create apps I'm looking for the URL for you.. all you do is create an XML file with the designer and make sure the db has all the tables correctly.. it's really quite an interesting package for project management well I prefer Free Software http://sourceforge.net/projects/outreach you and I are the same then :) are you one of the developers ? no nice package.. even for a beta :) (talking of outreach) hmm would like to see whats it like, but their website is down.. feature wise it seems very similar to DCL ok working now dcl.sf.net I think well.. I have looked around for some time for different appz.. came across Outreach, and it was by far the most advanced that I'd seen k looking at that URL you gave me.. I also prefer postgresql over mysql we're on MySql hmm.. cannot seem to log into that demo site.. do you have an instance of that s/w running ? trying to remember this other package yes are you able to grant me guest access, or? I'll understand if you say no :) just interested in having a look at it http://keystone.whitepj.net/ keystone is Free* not Free Software no sorry hmm.. forget it then :) We don't have the money for buying more s/w right now :( just bought Ensim WEBpplication the DCL demo works fine for me hmm.. not for me I just used support/support nope.. I tried all of them... Invalid username and password pfft :) very odd really anyway...by the looks of the screenshots, the OPT is a lot more developed... and has a lot more features.. you have caps on? caps lock Arturas (arturas@213.226.153.20) joined #gnuenterprise. Hello hi yeah its working fine nope.. no caps on.. thats for sure maybe cookies? hi all I'll try a different browswer perhaps.. hi hmm.. could be cookies. but dont think so ra3vat: hi aRJAy: there is binary build of gnue tools for win32 you can easily get working in a minutes ra3vat: thanks... I might have a d/l and play.. as I explained though, I'm no developer :| phark... even tried with a different browser.. not working what is not working? Action: aRJAy notices a typo... Arturas: nope.. still not working aRJAy: WHAT is still not working?? :) Arturas: I was talkigng with Mr_You about a site that we're looking at.. dcl.sourceforge.net/dcl cannot manage to get into the demo area i can see login screen but can't get further (don't have login there :) guest / guest hmm.. seems that I have a lock on my machine here.. am able to get into it through another machine though v.odd hmm.. turned off zonealarm pro and now it's ok :) work that out! :) :) Mr_You: seem like a nice package really. nice and fast too brb ra3vat (~ds@ics.elcom.ru) left irc: "Client Exiting" hmm.. brb ra3vat (~ds@ics.elcom.ru) joined #gnuenterprise. anyway.. Action: Arturas is eager to see the biggest change in GNUe :) lol with ash down I get NO mail from gnuenterprise anymore Arturas: remember that the @gnue.org addresses are'nt delivering at the moment and jcater is swamped with that real life hrrrrrrrrr hopefully real soon if you sent it recently, I would re-send to jamest and jason i have my kids this weekend but will be GNUe'n as time allows at their "real" e-mail addresses sent sometime this week :/ jamest@math.ksu.edu is your best bet for me about 3 days ago or more ash has been off line since the 1st IIRC what did the patch do? GFDisplayHandler.py file completely rewrited class responsible for handling dates dates should be i18n'ed or maybe i can simply commit to cvs? this is a big change, but it's form specific and it works (at least for me :) i'm really not one to say on that as i have no idea what's going on in displayhandler can you send it to jamest@math.ksu.edu ok, thank you i'm thinking the only thing we should do before you commit it is run it past jcater as he's "da man" in the display handler section would you like me to send as cvs diff or include whole changed file? whole file is fine w/ me ok going....
