PIII-500 should be fine RAM is probably more critical than MHz anyway of course, the more juice you can give it the better On very slow PCs, there is a know bug where the splashscreen can cause crashes k...is there a sizing doc for GNUe yet? (basically if the app takes so long to open that the splashscreen has already gone away) actually that may have been fixed sizing doc: not really.
