It sounds like you're probably running it from the CVS checkout - That might work without distutils. But getting it installed to /usr, etc. on the filesystem is a distutils thing. jbailey: thanks, now i know thanks, that was it :-) jamest (~jamest@adsl-65-71-168-128.dsl.tpkaks.swbell.net) joined #gnuenterprise. sup all morning mstarke: what part of phoenix are you in (im in gilbert) since we are leaving for the holiday we did xmas this morning and it was awesome (as kids didnt know) north phx..tatum & union hills so they got up played etc never woke us up and didnt even see that santa came gilbert, that is just this side of tuscon ? -)_ mstarke: cool i used to live at 40th Street & Union Hills and grew up in Moon Valley i'm at 43rd st you go to any PLUG meetings? i;m ashamed to say no, although I read & contribute to the list when i can i have forms! forms is in good shape :) lupo (~lupo@B9633.pppool.de) left irc: Read error: 104 (Connection reset by peer) cool Action: derek has to run mstarke: if you ever have gnue issues feel free to ask thanks fpor the help im not too far away and generally give plug presentations on forms every so often i have a cousin down in your neck of the woods after designer gets a report over haul this holiday i plan to do a session at plug most of my family lives right by you parents and one of my sisters are at 44th Street and Thunderbird drop me a note at plug and perhaps we can get together so im out that way every other week or so when you are up here Action: derek is away: beating children (my own of course) :-) mstarke (~mstarke@ip68-3-42-197.ph.ph.cox.net) left irc: "bye" psu_ (psu@81.98.44.42) left #gnuenterprise. btami (~btami@3e70d727.dialin.enternet.hu) joined #gnuenterprise. hi all hello btami hello ra3vat how about your friend with interbase? any success? i was out at friday so will know only at monday i'm installing all things myself now tetrinet on gandalf. btami: i have asked psu to place packages info in binary build to the web site may be he will need your help ok i will email him what i'v used in build i gave him what you said 09 Dec it is in today's log btami: how long will you stay here now? it depends :) childrens, wife... i'm installing on win2000 s/childrens/children seems translating is not recoded correctly can you check that header is filled correctly in ru translations localised version or english? localized "Language-Team: Dmitry Sorokin \n" "MIME-Version: 1.0\n" "Content-Type: text/plain; charset=koi8-r\n" "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit\n" header in ru/LC_MESSAGES/gnue.po yes is this what you want? it is what we have now but it is not recoded under win to cp1251 so all translation is screwed yeah, i remeber s/remeber/remember have you tried unicode build of wxpython? yes, but unicode wx doesn't worked on win98 so, in exe's i'v used not unicode version there is some workaround mentioned in wxpython page but i'v never tried ok, i should test both versions of wxpython and interbase or firebird The Unicode verison works best on Windows NT/2000/XP. It will also mostly work on Windows 95/98/Me systems, but it is a bit of a hack-job. See CHANGES.txt for details. http://www.wxpython.org/download.php#binaries i did not find unicode workaround info in CHANGES.txt Unicode works best on platforms in the NT branch of the Windows family tree (NT, win2k, XP) but it is now also possible to use the same unicode binaries on win95/98/ME platforms as well! This is done by using a special library and DLL with the application called MSLU, (Microsoft Layer for Unicode). oh, thanks btami: we need better commit logs please l are jamest: i'v used gcvs l, R, etc just don't quite live up to the jcater standard of "syncing machines" :) and my commit messages had eaten :) i figured it was a bug just wanted to make sure you noticed it :) yes, i'v noticed :) maybe i will try comand line next s/comend/command it'll work better :) now i can test under win2000 so will see is unicode build deserve to get under w98 you know, beginners use gui :) btami: any guru here will give you 10-sec course of plain command line tools for the price of better commit messages cd ~/cvs/gnue cvs commit type in "syncing machines" into the editor DONE! :) oooo Action: jcater smacks jamest around or the ever popular "fixing the fixed fix for the fix" i like first better :) jamest: i'v find an error when wanted to try connection.gfd converter is ok ? database tag was child of form in 0.4.x if GFParser.py we lost ? it was renamed to and moved to common so all the tools could use it oooo yeah but connection's parent tag is None now so a converted connection.gfd is failed with gnue-forms btami: committed a change AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'connection' where bug ? ooo nevermid but not sure if connection.gfd will work or not I wish connection.gfd wasn't in cvs as it's a bad hack in GDataSource.py line 402 remove it maybe this problem not connection.gfd specific just i'v run into this error with this gfd i don't know... looks like the cater AI fixed it so no biggie now :) not quite it still bombs on startup Action: jcater is looking into it... it may not be specific to connections.gfd but I still don't like connections.gfd :) tell to siesel :) would it matter? no i can remove it from next exe's if you want ok, fixed the error in cvs try again Nick change: minddog -> minddog[null] ok, it works now btami: recoding translations messages from koi8-r to cp1251 does not work i'm on w2k with unicode wxpython are you using sitecustomize.py ? i would not want to with sys.setdefaultencoding(...)
