can you run accounting for small business? i don't think the gnue-sb package does accounting yet i'm more into the tools which do work how about regular? there isn't a regular yet as it's going to depend on appserver which isn't ready we're slow :( ok.. we are thinking to use ck-ledger which uses mysql. then when and if gnue is ready, migrate. ck-ledger is phpgroupware. we just need to get off windows based accounting. ah i have this non-profit bicycle recycler who wants to move to "online" accounting. that's cool i keep coming back to gnue to see if it is ready. and we keep crawling slowly along :) i think a few people have tried to port accounting packages to gnue i can't recall which ones but do you think it is a good idea to start them on ck-ledger and move to gnue since you should have good tools by then? i can't really say if you need something relatively soon, and ck-ledger has the basic features you need, I woiuld think so i think if we had our way gnue would be complete about 2 years ago you are working on import and data design tools? we're working on ui tool, reports tool, the appserver and a common library for python apps to make writing python apps easier yo yo yo reinhard (~reinhard@M1264P004.adsl.highway.telekom.at) left irc: "There's always one more imbecile than you expect." thanks jamest... power be with you.. he has the powa Vee (~mike@66.182.192.34) got netsplit. reinhard (~reinhard@M1264P004.adsl.highway.telekom.at) joined #gnuenterprise. reinhard: i see you've unleashed johannes upon the appserver Vee (~mike@66.182.192.34) returned to #gnuenterprise. #gnuenterprise: mode change '+b *!*@199.243.96.2*' by jordan.freenode.net hehe thierry (~thierry@AStrasbourg-251-1-1-7.w82-127.abo.wanadoo.fr) joined #gnuenterprise. jamest: yes :) that mean 1.0 is just around the corner right? =) in case you didn't notice johannes already did notable parts of appserver over the last year you mean 0.1, not 1.0 ;-) ah, he was using your login then though right Action: jamest saw the new username in the commit emails no wtf? am I having brain issues again SachaS (~Sacha@dialup-196-203.conceptual.net.au) joined #gnuenterprise. http://mail.gnu.org/archive/html/commit-gnue/2003-05/msg00081.html is one of his commits from may last year dangit man. something changed! my brain tells me something is different :) however he is far behind us wrt number of commits because he uses to test his code and make sure it works before he commits what! what kind of methodology is that? and therefore he doesn't have to make 10 more commits to fix bugs ;-) i'm trying hard to get that out of him but he doesn't want to learn ;-) see, I'm a believer in extreme programming err, I mean extreme lazy programming lol our motto "why fix your own bugs when someone else will do it for you" SuSE's installer is pretty nice but it's no debian um i may have to revoke svn access unless his behaviour improves unless, wait does he also fix other peoples bugs too? /msg jamest as long as he stays in appserver/, we'll be fine as that could really rock true def doSomethingHardButCool(self): pass hey johannes, doSomethingHardButCool doesn't seem to work, can you fix it?
