Yeah, you need to use svnadmin to mess with it. right, svnadmin is/was dead too second time this week WHat version of svn? we should be back up was 1.0.1 as of right now it's 1.0.2 stupid damn thing jamest: So you did things like "svnadmin recover" yes i typically have to purge all svn related processes then svnadmin recover then that will sometimes hang give it a good long while then kill it and svnadmin recover rinse, repeate Ouce finally it recovers Ouch even this last time it took about 10 minutes but it recovers after that I can fire the anon svnserve back up COuld people be trying to connect to it while it's recovering? i don't have anon svn running and i don't see any svn processes typically it shows a few perconnection like when johannesV_ asked me to check it looked like he tried about 4 times as there were 4 or 5 groups of svn related stuff for him jamest: You should talk to the people on #svn *** reinhard has quit IRC yeah, i need to sometime http://subversion.tigris.org/project_faq.html#wedged-repos I guess it's *very* important to have no other access to the repo during a recover. THey recomend turnign off exec permissions on svn And turnging off apache and/or svnserve ok, thanks jamest: I wish I could offer more/better help. Sorry /me hands jamest an ax dsmith: np, i'm glad for the help jcater: am I to use this on svn or dsmith for not being more help? svn ok, thanks i'm sure dsmith will be glad to hear that . o O (Whew!) Check the ownership/permissions of the repo. And the umask. It took me a while to get that workign right. I had to hack the ssh /etc/init.d/ssh file to set the umask properly. * dsmith just remembered that he never wrote all that stuff down. The spooky thing about subversion, is that you need write access to the repo even for just anonymous checkouts. Because of lock files and so on. ah, we wrapper all the svn commands for that Ok. so svn is just a script that does umask (and other stuff?) and calls the real svn? *** dcmwai has quit IRC yes svn, svnadmin, and svnserve all like that jamest: I would check and make sure that your repo has all the premissions/ownerships you think it should have. *** roby has quit IRC if it's working now then I'm afraid i'll have to save debugging for when I'm off the clock :( * jamest needs a clone (of myself unfortunately) *** SachaS has joined #gnuenterprise me too * chillywilly clones himself with super trout powers sounds fishy to me * Vee proposes gnue as the solution to everything. gnue version control system gnue OS gnue underwear.... ew underwear? GNUe Kitchen Sink(tm) what's that? ack! * chillywilly gouges out his eyes a friend has been describing what seems to be a pretty ideal use case for it at the hospital he works at so he's combing over the site right now.. * chillywilly attempts to remove the mental image manually with a carving knife chillywilly: just don't ask him what happened to his pants and you'll be ok lol * chillywilly somehow thinks jcater's naked image would look eerily similar to cartman on south park ;P *** holycow has quit IRC *** dcmwai has joined #gnuenterprise *** Morphous has joined #gnuenterprise *** Amorphous has quit IRC *** kilo_ has joined #gnuenterprise i have a question, jamest probably can answer or some appserver guy if i have a gnue client and a gnue server. at the time there is only one way communication: client to server. there is no server calls client (eg for a notification). are these correct statements? yes they are correct hi reinhard_ thanks. one more questions. in gnue-appserver/src, there are the test.py and testRPC.py files. currently, there is no way to have a client talk sort of "object oriented" with business objects on the server but going through result lists. is this correct? yes and this is for a reason we had an "object oriented" interface over RPC in the first version of appserver ok. and what happened to that? it *killed* performance so we killed it :) :) IIRC siesel made some tests ok. so currently, appserver does not have an alternative interface but only the gnue-common way to connect to the appserver. and populating our simple address_person form connect and talk took like 100 RPC calls or so every RPC client could talk to appserver just gnue-common is the only one that's implemented by now ok. *** dcmwai has quit IRC i am about to missues gnue infrastracture then ;) :) not sure yet but it might get ugly :) not the sort of solution you prefer haha *lol* i re organised my ebXML code i prepared a inventory availability collaborative business process basically you can load different collaborative business processes an business process execution engine executes the collaborative business process so thats done the next step is to connect to gnue hey what's the name of that python pdf library? that I think Jason was using SachaS, I'm sorry I don't have the time to follow you right now ... no problem preparing to leave for Gothenborg tomorrow 7:00 a.m. which is *way* early for me so packing things and so on wow! cool. are you looking forward? not to the flight but to the meetings? yes to the meetings haha :) not to the flight :) did you go to france as well? libre software meetings? no ok. ok will not hold you back from packing ;) have a good time thanks *** dcmwai has joined #gnuenterprise *** johannesV_ has quit IRC chillywilly : reportLab? k chillywilly: it's reportlab gnue-reports also uses it ok * chillywilly looks at http://formencode.org/docs/FormEncode.html * jamest looks at the clock on the wall heh you ready to go eat? :) jamest are you aroudn for a few? i would love to get pass param forms working i was just going to start to dig into it so wondering if you are available for questions if i run into some :) I think he's getting ready to go get some food ;) i'm about to get some grub okay i will pile up questions for your return yeah thats it hah mmmm, food hmmm params seem to work well on forms but i am not sure that navigator is passing them DB001: [GNObjects:173] Running form forms/testParam.gfd runs the form but it doesnt appear to be getting the parameter i set in navigator and based on that output it doesnt appear to mention that it is passing anything *** sjc has joined #gnuenterprise *** dcmwai has quit IRC *** SachaS has quit IRC *** SachaS has joined #gnuenterprise *** dsmith has quit IRC night all *** SachaS has left #gnuenterprise
