*** bigbrother has joined #gnuenterprise *** bigbrother has joined #gnuenterprise don't know if that's right, but its on anyway :) *** johannesV has quit IRC and do you know something about commit mails? and also no mail forwards i really don't know anything about it woa, logs are working again www.clannandrumma.com/radio,htm , 'click here to listen now' jamest: thx *** jcater has joined #gnuenterprise *** bluesbaron_ has joined #gnuenterprise *** bluesbaron_ has left #gnuenterprise *** SachaS has joined #gnuenterprise hi everyone hi Sacha hi kilo hows going seems like log is running again cool i need your opinion. do you think gcds should be able to include other gcds? i have a phone conference in a couple of minutes a live demonstartion of workflows i got to collect my family soon also http://www.wfmc.org/ i am not sure if .gcd should include .gcds you want to include the money .gcd in another .gcd file ... exactly i guess the include would make sense or have a new .gscd gnue super cd ;) where you can include .gcd so per .gcd one module or have an uri ;) pointing to our .gcd repository ooops was I the one who suggested that? actually i once became a presentation of the ebXML registry/repository the repository = database or filesystem so .gcd's would go into the repository then in the registry you can have meta data, classification, associations etc all the data of the registry (meta data, classifications, associations etc) also go into its own database currently they are evaluating subversion to add versioning to stored documents in the repository i like the idea of such a registry/repository for .gcd files. *** ajmitch has quit IRC *** dsmith-lunch has quit IRC *** btami has quit IRC *** ajmitch has joined #gnuenterprise *** dsmith-lunch has joined #gnuenterprise *** btami has joined #gnuenterprise *** btami has quit IRC * SachaS needs an application to use gnue *** dcmwai has quit IRC *** johannesV has joined #gnuenterprise *** Vee2d2 has quit IRC *** Vee2d2 has joined #gnuenterprise *** sjc has joined #gnuenterprise *** wendall911 has joined #gnuenterprise *** dsmith has quit IRC *** dsmith has joined #gnuenterprise *** wendall911 has quit IRC *** sjc has quit IRC *** johannesV has quit IRC *** ajmitch has quit IRC *** dsmith has quit IRC *** SachaLog has quit IRC *** jamest has quit IRC *** jcater has quit IRC *** stan has quit IRC *** kilo has quit IRC *** reinhard has quit IRC *** chillywilly has quit IRC *** nickr has quit IRC *** derek has quit IRC *** havoc has quit IRC *** Vee2d2 has quit IRC *** dimas has quit IRC *** Vee has quit IRC *** SachaS has quit IRC *** wayneg has quit IRC *** dsmith has joined #gnuenterprise *** wendall911 has joined #gnuenterprise *** sjc has joined #gnuenterprise *** Vee2d2 has joined #gnuenterprise *** johannesV has joined #gnuenterprise *** ajmitch has joined #gnuenterprise *** SachaS has joined #gnuenterprise *** jcater has joined #gnuenterprise *** kilo has joined #gnuenterprise *** dimas has joined #gnuenterprise *** SachaLog has joined #gnuenterprise *** reinhard has joined #gnuenterprise *** chillywilly has joined #gnuenterprise *** Vee has joined #gnuenterprise *** jamest has joined #gnuenterprise *** stan has joined #gnuenterprise *** derek has joined #gnuenterprise *** havoc has joined #gnuenterprise *** nickr has joined #gnuenterprise *** wayneg has joined #gnuenterprise SachaS: are you on the 'wrong' channel ? :) johannesV i need an application in gnue :) i dont know what it will be, but I want one just updated the sqlite-driver to work again with gnue :) now i've to rebuild the introspection and to create the creation-stuff johannesV: Cool. Sacha what kind of application dsmith: well, introspection might get a bit rough because of sqlite's lack of typeinfo but it seems as if we can parse this from the sqlite_master table I like the whole concept of sqlite. No comm protos or servers, just a library and a file. It great for certain apps. yes, i had that feeling too i couldn't believe it first, just did an apt-get install sqlite and everything was usable :) from scratch ... :) We converted a windows app that used dao (or whatver it's called) to a vb sqlite dll. Very painless. It even uses [ and ] as quote chars. johannesV: i have a class def in a gcd, where two properties are the same reference type, referring to a previously defined class and in interbase it fails hmm i generated the sql file and noticed that it had a referential integrity check to the referred class but it was repeated two times, under tha same name oh, right damn so the second will raise an error and this is the error, cause interbase cant insert the reference info to the appropriate system table yes, the second one, no matter what order they are so the sql code contains two alter table statements with the same constraint the problem is, introspection can't tell us something about constraints or indices or keys in general yes, 2 exactly same sql commands so i thought a 'viable' practice could be to check wether all fields listed in a given constraint exist or not if they're new to the schema, we will add an alter-table with the constraint this clashes if we have to references of the same type resulting in the same constraint both conditions (field checks) are positive :( so you've found a problematic bug you did know and went to holiday??? 8-)) i think i should patch the creator to hold a list of 'constraints to be added' which is some sort of 'unique' to a batch this way adding the same constraint multiple times could be avoided kilo: no, i haven't thought of that problem, but knew there is a general problem regarding constraints and keys just joking *** sjc has quit IRC yes, this list seems to be a good idea i'll have a look at it; for now i'm fighting the sql-statement parsing of sqlite ok, it is not a critical problem, as the tables are ok, and the constraints are ok too it just fails to add the second constraint right, but i'll try to fix it tomorrow ok, so that's all for today have a nice evening ! bye *** johannesV has quit IRC *** seb__ has joined #gnuenterprise anybody there? i get svn: Can't connect to host 'svn.gnuenterprise.org': Connection refused when i try to grasb latest svn source with the command i copied off of the web site seb__: we are sorry seb__: our svn server has been compromised and we had to temporarly turn off anonymous svn access ok so irt's s/irt/it you can grab the daily snapshots from the download section on the web page ok, will do. does that mean that when svn is alive again i wil incrementally upgrade? err, on second thoughts I will just use release from debian sid now. thanks anyway. seb__: release from debian sid is not quite up to date but ajmitch will be able to tell you when there will be new packages :) *** bluesbaron_ has joined #gnuenterprise *** bluesbaron_ has left #gnuenterprise *** dsmith has quit IRC hi reinhard how are you? recovered well? ;) i missed the social event we went for a nice dinner was also good talked about software patents but from what i heard if I go again to LinuxTAG I will also go to the social event ;) yeah it was nice i am off to bed night night Sacha *** jamest has left #gnuenterprise *** seb__ has quit IRC *** kilo has quit IRC *** kreiszner has joined #gnuenterprise I have installed gnue on a debian testing system and even upgraded it once by apt-get but have yet to be able to display the first form. What do I need to do. I have a postgres db up and running. *** jamest has joined #gnuenterprise jamest, do you have a moment. *** wendall911 has quit IRC what's up? I have installed gnue on a debian testing system and even upgraded it once by apt-get but have yet to be able to display the first form. What do I need to do. I have a postgres db up and running. gnue-forms /path/to/samples/intro/intro.gfd so I just run that file gnue-forms is the client the gfd file is just a xml file that describes the form if this is a .deb install then I don't know where the samples are installed anyone know, is ajmitch is making the .debs now? /usr/share/doc/gnue-forms/samples i *hope* he does he hasn't done so for our june release but then, we haven't changed our topic to point to the new news, either i noticed that :) I have the release before the last one. I only have /usr/share/doc/gnue-forms/examples/intro/intro.gfd.gz kreiszner: you probably have to unzip that to some localtion I can do that but should I scrap the idea of using .deb's and install from source. I thought that it would be easier with the debs i think the .debs are ok if you're comfortable w/ source then I'd lean toward the latest release or even our svn checkouts or snapshots I am not comfortable with anything but so far nothing is working and I am in never never land. I did install from source a long time ago though. then stick w/ the .debs and gunzip that sample then try it out at least that way we'll know you have a working install :) I have unziped but what is the command to try it out? Sorry for my incompetenc. night all *** reinhard has quit IRC gnue-forms yourfile.gfd where yourfile.gfd is the path to that file you unziped I get Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0 are you running this on your local machine? yes under an X session? yes it is being blocked from accessing the GUI I guess I am doing this from my postgres account is that bad it would have to be from the account you've logged into the gui as or from a shell opened as the login user you can bypass that via the command xhost + which allows any machine, anywhere to display stuff on your desktop until you log off this machine doesn't like that command but I am going to change the permissions of the file and try that. I have the intro form working. Thanks. Maybe one day I could write a super newbie doc for people like me. that would be cool I have been wanting to move all my accting over to gnue for some time and have moved my data to postgresql but I need now to get up to par on gnue. *** jamest has quit IRC *** dcmwai has joined #gnuenterprise *** holycow has joined #gnuenterprise
