Is this a reasonable candidate for gnuenterprise conversion? Thank you. *** johannesV has quit IRC *** SachaS_ has joined #gnuenterprise djisgitt, well... if your application is purely a forms based app then yes if your app has functionality such as graphing and other non form types of features, you may need to revisit the issue *** SachaS has quit IRC holycow, Thank you for your response; the application has quite a lot of non-forms functionality. Can the ui built from Designer not be integrated into the application? djisgitt there are few widgets available. i don't have enough experience to answer that, gnue renders it's own ui using a subset of wx widgets what sacha said if you build a ui with designer that will work. gnue allows to have ntier architecture there is a gnue application server but you can also use 2 tier but you have to develop either 2 tier or n tier Ok, thank you for the input; I will have to learn more about gnue. I just saw a reference to it on pgsql ml and thought I would investigate. man i hate this spam *** djisgitt has left #gnuenterprise *** jamest has quit IRC *** jamest has joined #gnuenterprise *** cilkay has joined #gnuenterprise SachaS_, i built this --> http://www200.pair.com/mecham/spam/spamfilter20041003.html i know it doesnt help locally but just on the general topic filters out 99% of stuff by dfault the only thing that gets through is pure text spam where the spam is written like a letter say nigerian scams and i'm about to teach it to recognize those purdy cool *** mnemoc has joined #gnuenterprise *** mnemoc_ has quit IRC holycow is this your setup? jee yep its actually only a few steps to setup it looks complicated cus the instructions are fairly detailed yeah it looks so very easy in actuality i'm going to write a bash script to automate it infact i may create a debian metapackage for it good to have you here ;) I still have no direct spam filter well if your on windows, use thunderbird, it has bayesean spam filtering its pretty good all mails go to a friends mta, that mta does spam check and marks up the email, it even puts *****SPAM***** in the subject line on linux you use the same thing, or even install spamassassin to scan mail locally yeah i have to do something somewhen soon you can set thunderbird to delete anything with *****SPAM***** in it yeah i add this rule tonight to evolution i just started using evo kinna cool hey do you know if its possible to get evo message window and email windows vertically laid out? no i have the list of emails on top and the content of the current email below thats in the middle window. left window i got the mail folders actually i miss the summary page cant find it anymore ;) hehe yeah that top down dealy is annoying actually i am surprised that there are no evolution plugins or anything the like might be a monster you got contacts, email, calendar, and todo why arent there any plugins? hehe *nod* yeah i know actually i think evo should be split up into separate apps i agree that they are closely related tasks but one should be able to use calendar separately from mail altho gnome calendare thingy integration is nice there is a evolution2.2 deb package *nod* yeah, just dropped into sarge a few weeks ago *** jamest has left #gnuenterprise *** oggers has joined #gnuenterprise good night *** SachaS_ has quit IRC *** sjc has quit IRC *** SachaS has joined #gnuenterprise *** jcater has quit IRC *** dimas has quit IRC *** Morphous has quit IRC *** kilo_ has quit IRC *** jamest has joined #gnuenterprise *** SachaS has quit IRC *** Amorphous has joined #gnuenterprise *** titopbs has quit IRC *** holycow has quit IRC *** jamest has quit IRC *** ccfiel has joined #gnuenterprise *** titopbs has joined #gnuenterprise *** Amorphous has quit IRC *** mnemoc_ has joined #gnuenterprise *** mnemoc has quit IRC *** ccfiel has quit IRC *** titopbs has quit IRC *** dcmwai has joined #gnuenterprise *** dimas has joined #gnuenterprise
