Even english doesn't work well any more *sniff* oh you're out of practice? kind of I had to learn a new language. "Schwäbisch" is quite difficult to learn ;) *** SachaS has joined #gnuenterprise hi SachaS hi jan how are you? fine. Chilling around and waiting for a meeting to begin in 20 minutes :) and you? i just missed a meeting. they changed to daylight saving in US. last week the phone conference was 7.00pm today it was 6.00pm CEST oops. daylight saving time is just crap and countries are changing them at different times was it phone or video conference phone phone is ok, but IMHO video conference really suck nevertheless, I still need to do some stuff. cu saturday *** siesel has quit IRC yep. for a german gnue getogether or a gnue getotgether in germany *** johannesV_ has quit IRC *** nictuku has joined #gnuenterprise *** nictuku has left #gnuenterprise *** sjc has joined #gnuenterprise *** dimas has quit IRC *** kilo has joined #gnuenterprise *** dimas has joined #gnuenterprise *** jcater has quit IRC reinhard: did requery make it into datasources and is it stable? should be anything special that needs to be activated to make it work? i'll be using it from custom app based on common so via the datasource wrapper postgres? yip set the attribute "requery" of the datasource to True that should actually do it IIRC ok, thanks let me add that requerying of detail records after a change in the master is not fully implemented yet s/fully// *** jcater has joined #gnuenterprise hi jcater a few days ago you said that DataObject could be used without a DataSource how would this be done, and what would be the reason to do it? * reinhard thinks he saw some unconditional accesses to dataObject._dataSource and curious if that should be fixed jamest, jcater: RecordSet has an __iter__ support - do you already use that anywhere? i do iirc it's a bit flaky though is it important for you that the current record position follows the iterator? I rewrote the iterator using a generator function i don't think so as I just do for record in recordSet: print record.foo type stuff (basically replacing about 50 lines of code with 4 lines) cool so you would be ok with just iterating through the records without moving the current record pointer? i would would probably speed up such things as now most probably the form display and detail dataobjects would follow the iteration def __iter__ (self): record = self.firstRecord () while record: yield record record = self.nextRecord () quite straightforward :) but like I said I would change that to not use record pointer movement *** wt has quit IRC i can't see any reason for it to maintain that pointer unless that would prevent all the records from loading as i'd need them all vs only what's in cache sure that's a matter of how it is implemented instead :) :) yield a new generator thing? AFAICT was already available with 2.2 *** lekma has joined #gnuenterprise hello jamest_: you can think yield as foo yield x bar ... would behave as ... result = [] foo result.append (x) bar return result ...except that python pauses execution of the function when yield is reached and resumes again when the loop requests the next element *** dimas has quit IRC ok thanks' *** dimas has joined #gnuenterprise night all *** reinhard has quit IRC *** kilo has quit IRC *** jamest_ has left #gnuenterprise *** jcater has quit IRC *** alandd has joined #gnuenterprise http://www.gnuenterprise.org/downloads/depends.php is blank. Anyone have a nice list of GNUe dependendcies? I'm trying to install on Fedora Core 3. Designer is complaining about wxPython. never mind. The FC2 rpms from wxpython.org appear to have solved the complaint.
