* derek isn't quite sure how there aren't more gnue applications in about 8 hours (including design and database creation) have moderately complex application with gnue working * derek does note that a lot of hand .gfd manipulation was necessary as designer isn't quite there yet... but it is darn close not enough people know & care about gnue sadly, this is true for the logs... (in case anyone is actively maintaining) DB000: /usr/lib/gnue/python/gnue/common/formatting/GDataFormatter.py:33: DeprecationWarning: FixedPoint is deprecated; use decimal.Decimal instead DB000: from gnue.common.external.fixedpoint import FixedPoint, addHalfAndChop * derek needs to get off my rear and install a development environment again as i have hit at least 4 or 5 things that were irrating, but minor fixes tonight writing some reports right now in gnue and they are even flowing fairly easy (simple reports mind you) i think what kills gnue to 90% of people it is not "web based" which is most unfortunate :( *** reinhard has joined #gnuenterprise sup reinhard hey derek is gnue still actively maintained? nice to see you gnueing again parts of it * derek has done two hack session days and remembering why this project is worth investing time in appserver, common yes forms ? forms kinda reports a little what do you guys use for data entry if you dont maintain forms? designer and navigator barely we maintain forms รก la "fix something when we need it" and if you use forms, are you just using emacs to create gfd's? (or just auto making forms mostly?) no, not emacs vim :-) same thing ;) sad thing is designer is close to being a really usable product the amoutn of crashing is minimal just it does a few things "wrong", but hand editing the files is easy enough i have used today mostly just to layout the screens FWIW requery after commit is only implemented in svn and beta versions i am bummed that not more interest in gnue and more people helping maintain i think lack of web interface makes most people not interested :( hey reinhard when do we see a new release? :) hi ajmitch soon ok betas are already out I know I'll have to break upstream version freeze to get them into breezy when is breezy freeze ? UVF was on july 7th ah oh we're fairly flexible about universe though ok will try to have final release before, say, 15 august and I'm lucky enough to have been delegated authority to break universe UVF you're not employed by canonical, are you? nah it'd be nice :) in case you want to suggest it to them ;) not sure they would listen to me ;-) hehe *** holycow has quit IRC *** sjc has joined #gnuenterprise *** mnemoc_ has joined #gnuenterprise *** mnemoc has quit IRC *** dimas has joined #gnuenterprise *** sjc has quit IRC *** jamest has joined #gnuenterprise *** jcater has joined #gnuenterprise *** SachaS has quit IRC *** jcater has quit IRC *** holycow has joined #gnuenterprise *** wt has joined #gnuenterprise *** SachaS has joined #gnuenterprise *** derek has quit IRC *** sjc has joined #gnuenterprise *** yure has joined #gnuenterprise *** wt has quit IRC *** wt has joined #gnuenterprise *** dimas has quit IRC *** SachaS_ has joined #gnuenterprise *** SachaS has quit IRC *** wendall911 has joined #gnuenterprise *** wendall911 has quit IRC *** jamest has quit IRC *** jamest has joined #gnuenterprise *** wendall911 has joined #gnuenterprise *** reinhard has quit IRC *** holy_cow has joined #gnuenterprise *** sjc has quit IRC *** jamest has left #gnuenterprise *** sjc has joined #gnuenterprise *** wendall_away has quit IRC *** sjc has quit IRC *** jcater has joined #gnuenterprise *** SachaS_ has quit IRC *** jamest has joined #gnuenterprise *** dcmwai has joined #gnuenterprise *** dcmwai has quit IRC *** wt has quit IRC *** jcater has quit IRC *** jamest has quit IRC
