<reinhard> yes, when it will become the "official" way to handle things
<reinhard> some directories in gnue have become kinda the "waste paper basket for unfinished code fragments"
<reinhard> and while it's a good idea to keep these fragments, it's probably also a good idea to distinguish between "proper gnue" and "poc of new ideas"
<reinhard> I'm thinking about stuff here like gnue-dbtools, gnue-integrator, gnue-phpforms, some of the dbdrivers we already purged and some of the rpc drivers that were never finished (soap, pyro, ...)
<reinhard> and I think gnue-contrib might be a good place for stuff we "want to get back to it later"

<flashpa> would anyone be able to help figure out why my gnue-designer complains that it can't find the mysql plugin

<flashpa> the documentation seems to indicate that the python MySQLdb module provides the plugin

<flashpa> i am reallystumped.  i loaded the postgresql module and it can find that one with no problems.
<flashpa> but i need the mysql to work.  i have tried turning on various debugging levels, but i can't seem to find how it is "missing" it.

<ajmitch> tried just an import at the interpreter command line?
<flashpa> the connections.conf seems to only list the database connections, not hwre the drivers are.  unless i am missing something.  i have mysqal specified as the provider.  perhaps that is not the right name?
<ajmitch> mysql should be the provider, yes
<flashpa> sadly, i don't know python well enough to trace what is going on (not going on)
