<dimas_> seems like form does not appear until it gets all the data over slow link

<reinhard> something I don't like about forms either
<reinhard> especially when you have dropdowns the form doesn't show up until all dropdown lists are filled
<dimas_> is there a design limitation to speed up form's appearance in this case?

<reinhard> to draw a form, forms needs data
<reinhard> blocks, entries and all those objects are designed to be non usable before the underlying ResultSet is available
<reinhard> and a current record is here
<reinhard> I am thinking about changing that, but it's a deep impact change
<reinhard> it would then look something like
<reinhard> form displays as soon as XML is parsed, but all entries are greyed out
<reinhard> and you get a sand clock cursor
<reinhard> and when data is fetched, entries become active
<reinhard> what would you think about that?
<dimas_> that would be much better
<reinhard> of course the optimal solution would be to fill the dropdowns in a separate thread while the user can already do stuff in the main thread
<reinhard> but we're *way* away from that...
