*** markus_s has joined #gnuenterprise Hi - what happened to 'oldpackages'? The new one does not contain a much accounting schemas... *** lupo__ has joined #gnuenterprise markus_s: the only accounting schema i remember was in gnue-luca luca? hm... will you find it? that one: svn.gnuenterprise.org/var/svn/gnue-luca/trunk? should be it ..seems to be down, though. Strange, I've just checked out /gnue/trunk, now /gnue-luca/trunk times out... Even in the browser http://svn.gnuenterprise.org/ times out. Anyway, I'll try again later. What about GNUe small business edition from http://www.gnu.org/software/gnue-sb/? Hm.. last commit there has beet in July 2003. you'd better ask reinhard about all these What about GNUe itself. I really like what I understand so far, but I'm having a hard time getting started. The samples seem unconnected, i.e. a sample in gnue-forms does not use the appserver at all. Likewise with the navigator. when you getting familiar with gnue-forms sample, switching to appserver is a matter of changing datasource and there is gnue-appserver/samples Hm, I create a schema with the designer, then also a forms definition. Install the schema in the datasource and then connect to it via the forms. I should then be able to insert, update and delete rows from the database for this schema. which include sample forms Is that more or less how it works? Okay, need to check those out. markus_s: yes i did not use designer much So you do XML by hand (i.e. text editor)? usually after i loaded schema i requested object directly from appserver with option to save debug output in the file so i was getting default form definition as appserver was able to construct it So you create the schema in the database (with SQL like CREATE TABLE foo (id PRIMARY KEY, bar INT,...)?? then tweaking manually no Sorry, so how do you create the schema, then? as .gcd files class definition Aha. Understood. GNUe small business edition does not have any such file... :-( ..must be a concept introduced after 2003 ;-) gnue-sb is obsolete Should luca be more up to date? and did not intend to use appserver from the beginning Aha. gcdcvs --connection=dialcom-backend $(GNUEGL)/finance/gl.gcd use something like that to load schema Yeah, could checkout gnue-luca... it it responding? is it Yes. Do I have to install some schemas from base first? may be gnue.gsd ? markus_s: try cvs installation, it is more convenient for development No, I meant from the gnue-luca dist. easily work from you home dir markus_s: gnue-luca is not complete You're probably right. I'm tring to do all this by hand, which is quite... time consuming. but luca seems to be a start. dimas_: thank you, bye. *** markus_s has left #gnuenterprise *** jcater has joined #gnuenterprise *** lupo__ has quit IRC *** chillywi1ly has joined #gnuenterprise *** chillywilly has quit IRC *** chillywi1ly has quit IRC *** chillywilly has joined #gnuenterprise *** jamest has joined #gnuenterprise *** sjc has joined #gnuenterprise *** jamest has quit IRC *** sjc has quit IRC *** jcater has quit IRC
