I think there are *serious* arguments against replacing our zipcode sample data with a full city list :-) *** lupo__ has joined #gnuenterprise ok after roughly 4 hours and still not even finished with parsing the XML file, I cancelled gnue-schema... why not add a data load tag? so those 40K items become 1 we *have* do find some solution for reading larger amounts of data s/do/to/ might be integrator gnue-schema actually was never designed to read data, its purpose was to read a schema that's right *** deke has quit IRC *** derek has joined #gnuenterprise good night all *** reinhard has quit IRC *** johannesV has quit IRC *** jamest_ has left #gnuenterprise *** kilo has joined #gnuenterprise *** jamest has left #gnuenterprise *** Annirak has joined #gnuenterprise *** Annirak has left #gnuenterprise *** Annirak has joined #gnuenterprise *** jamest has joined #gnuenterprise Does anyne know if the SCM package for GNUe is available yet? no it is not Know of any other OSS SCM solutions that run on MySQL? if you find one that runs on MySQL run away MySQL is NOT a suitable platform for SCM imho if SCM==strategic cruise missile, then it is definitely not :) is mysql a suitable platform for anything? nickr: organizing your recipes? sqlite seems more appropriate :) Not strategic cruise missile, Supply Chain Management. Why is MySQL not an appropriate platform for SCM? *** kilo has quit IRC *** wendall911 has joined #gnuenterprise jamest: ping or any other dev for that matter...quickie question i'll try and help but it's been years since I could be called a gnue "dev" :) heya jamest *** klasstek has joined #gnuenterprise how's university life? i left there about 2 yrs ago :) Anyhow, phpWebSite core has been rewritten, and we're working on some RCs for 1.0 jamest: tells you how much I'm in the loop then ;) :) I would very much like to have support for gnue on the backend and am wondering how much interest there would be for a cms frontend to be available. OO php, which I know is everyone's favorite....;) lol I know plone is probably a better candidate, but I am not a dev for that project ;) :) um, when you say a gnue backend what do you mean? as we're still mainly in the tools, not any specific ERP pieces (yeah, we're slow :) well, since our database api is fixed, I was thinking more just a driver for the app server interaction jamest: one of my needs would be to get the data from the cms accessible to the app server btw, i'll be a little choppy in responses as I'm in the middle of rewiring part of my house had some foundation work done last spring and the guys cut through the wiring to my garage about time the fix was more than a few wire nuts, some tape, and two wires pulled way too tight for their own good :) jamest: not sure what the best method would be, and it's been so long since I talked to reinhard about it, I've forgotten what he said reinhard and johannes would still be the best bet as they are heavy involved in all of gnue ok, no problem, I'll try and catch reinhard in the next couple days i'm little more than a (sigh) user now wrt gnue i'd love to see it myself simply for the exposure of the code, but i can't give a clue on the best way to go about it jamest: well...I did some research just today gnue is far in the lead in terms of speed/stability there are several projects with many more features, but they are typically java based and extremely slow which always leads me back here that's good to hear gnue should be fairly stable as I use it extensively at work oh, super though now I am a bit behind svn head yeah, I used to have it installed...but just not atm on compatibility the gentoo ebuilds work quite well, so I can add it quite easily but I use gnue-common exclusively for all my custom apps fairly recent copies nice so if gnue breaks we no longer make money :) as I can't ship, receive, or invoice w/o it :) well, I plan on an ecommerce package in the near future...so I would like to tie POS and financial into the works as well as shiping, etc It's a huge need for our current client, and there just isn't much out there that doesn't require bailing wire hmm, ebuilds need updated...will get to that tomorrow thanks jamest....will ttyl *** wendall911 has left #gnuenterprise *** klasstek_ has joined #gnuenterprise *** klasstek__ has joined #gnuenterprise *** klasstek has quit IRC *** klasstek_ has quit IRC *** klasstek__ has quit IRC *** derek has quit IRC *** deke has joined #gnuenterprise
